  • Write eye-catching headlines that entice the visitor to read further.
    • To keep your headline on topic, base it around the primary keyword for the page.
  • Use images effectively.
    • Relevant images immediately tell your visitor they are in the right place and increase conversions.
    • Place an image (with a link to your offer or proposal) ‘above the fold’ whenever possible.
    • It is also important that your image is clear and has a strong call-to-action.
  • Quality content is importantAn alchemist working with his assistants at a crucible. Etch
    • per Google, “If a page exists only to make money, the page is spam.”
Money making is OK as long as you have content value to back it up.
    • Avoid poor grammar, poor spelling, failure to fulfill the promises of the headline and/or giving too little information.
    • Content is key to not only attracting visitors, but in getting them to know, like, and trust you, come back, and recommend others. (or link to your page).
  • Keep your visitor in mind.
    • Avoid images and pages that take too long to load.
    • Remember that the people who read your site are actually humans and not just search engine robots. Don’t allow S EO efforts to spoil their experience.
    • Avoid too many colors and fonts, poorly formatted text and other distractions that tend to confuse the visitor and prevent them from converting into buyers.
  • Don’t ‘Over-Sell’.
    • Avoid an overly-promotional tone when writing your content. Do this by pretending you’re advising a close friend over coffee.
    • Talk about the benefits of the product instead of the features, and then introduce a call-to-action.
  • Split test your pages to improve conversions.
    • Start testing subtle changes (ie. a different image, headline or call to action) and measure conversion rates using a split testing platform such as Google’s GWO tool, Visual Website Optimizer or Optimizely.
    • Known as an ‘A/B split test’, visitors to your site are shown one of two different variations of the same page and statistics are collected to learn about differences in their effectiveness.

“Sure, great ideas, but how can I actually do it?”, you ask.

Well my friend, let’s talk specifically about Content Creation Tools.
