Google XML Sitemaps

Install and activate the Google XML Sitemaps plugin:

  • Go to Settings>>XML-Sitemap and under “Sitemap Content”, tick the boxes for
    • Include homepage
    • Include posts
    • Include following pages of multi-page posts (Increases build time and memory usage!)
    • Include static pages
    • Include the last modification time.
  • Uncheck all other tick boxes in this section

  • Under “Change Frequencies”, you may TEMPORARILY make the following changes
    • Homepage from daily to hourly
    • Posts from monthly to hourly
    • Static pages from weekly to hourly
  • Be sure to return the “Change Frequencies” to their original values once your site is ready to be indexed

  • All other default settings should be fine for you.

  • Click (Update Options) at the bottom
