Select A Domain Name

There are two schools of thought regarding domain names.
  • Those who want to create a ‘brand’ will use their company name or product name, however, you must avoid using brand names you don’t own to avoid legal action for infringement.
  • SEOs who believe that search engines still favor URLs with embedded keywords will use ‘Exact Match Domains’ (or EMDs) although this may be less true post Penguin.

Being of the latter rather than the former, our method dictates that your domain name include your Primary Keyword. However, your circumstances will dictate the proper course of action.

Enter your Keyword here and click anywhere outside the box.

It may be necessary to add a prefix and/or suffix to your Primary Keyword to find an available Domain. Suggestions are presented below but you are free to choose something of your own.

If you find that you MUST add something, a suffix is preferable to a prefix. Of course, you may add either or both if needs be.

  • Option #1: add a suffix such as
    • advice.
    • reviews.
    • scam.
    • guide.
    • strategy.
    • here.
    • now.
    • site.
    • info.
    • news.
    • tips.
    • spot.
    • secrets.
    • none/other.

  • Option #2: add a prefix such as
    • the.
    • my.
    • buy.
    • get.
    • last.
    • best.
    • top.
    • worst.
    • none/other.

  • Your suggested domain name, is characters long.
Using the options as necessary, click here to to research the availability of your domain name and add to it to your ‘short list’ (if available) before returning here.
  • Try for a Top Level Domain (TLD) such as .com, .net or .org
  • Alternatively, .us, .me, .biz, .info, mobi, .ca, .co and .co.uk are ok too although they will tend to be more difficult to rank.
  • Try to avoid hyphens and keep it shorter than 26 characters long if possible.

Leave the Namecheap tab/window open with your selected Domain Name. You will be Registering it in the next module.
