Recommended Plugins
Other strongly suggested plugins include:
- WordFence – Plug vulnerabilities and ensure the security of your WordPress site.
- Widget Logic or Widget Context – Control widget content by page, post or category.
- Duplicator – Backup and quickly duplicate your site. Powerful, but a bit advanced.
- SexyBookmarks – Want social involvement on your site? This will do it.
- GD Press Tools – Powerful tools to maintain site performance BUT NO LONGER SUPPORTED.
- Simple Revisions Delete by bweb
- Virtual Robots.txt – Manage your robots.txt file.
- Dagon Sitemap Generator – Intended to serve the user, not the search engines.
- Post Type Switcher – Change posts to pages or vice versa.
- Paid Downloads – Someday you will have content for sale. You will need something like this.
- Easy WP SEO or Blogger High SEO – Only if you decided NOT to use the Yoast SEO plugin
Although I often use Duplicator and GD Press Tools, I generally deactivate them until I need them. They are both good maintenance tools but they do not contribute to the user experience.
Affiliate sites may benefit from these:
- Amazon JS Very easy way to quickly add Amazon products to your site.
- Easy Clickbank Plugin Another easy way to add products. This time from Clickbank.
And if you plan to run Banner and CPA Ads (why wouldn’t you?), the following may be helpful:
- Quick Adsense – Quickly insert AdSense Ad blocks into your pages and posts on any Theme.
- WP Insert – Highly recommended for its Legal Pages alone.
If you followed my earlier recommendations, you already have the Contact Form 7 plugin installed on your site. To maximize your marketing efforts, you will want to build a subscriber list from your contacts. (The money is in the list!) Capture squeeze page data with these three plugins together.
I have a few more plugin suggestions in the next module.
